Barbara Griffin’s Testimony
Coatesville, Pa
Ms. Griffin first heard of MCDC’s Home Rehabilitation Program through a friend that explained to her about a meeting being held at the New Life in Christ Fellowship Church on 5th avenue in Coatesville, PA. At that meeting, applications were given to attendees who sought revitalizations within their home. Some of the issues that confronted Ms. Griffin and her home was a kitchen that fell into total disrepair. On her own, she didn’t have the finances to improve her bad situation. Upon receiving financial help from MCDC, her dreams became a reality, as you can see from the before and after pictures in this testimonial!
Barbara stated that her experience working with MCDC was “wonderful for her.” Her situation improved because she now has a “beautiful kitchen” Barbara also stated that she “enjoyed working with Ricky Campbell and Bro. Fonz as they made the interview and assessment process easy.” Ms. Griffin felt confident that they had the best interest of the Community at heart”. Her last statement is centered around suggesting that if residents have an opportunity to sign up with MCDC projects they should readily try to be a part of it.
MONTe WoodWARD’s Testimony
Coatesville, Pa.
Monte states that she heard about the MCDC’s 1st time home buyers program via MCDC’s Executive Director and also by the internet. Some of the Woodward’s issues centered around just where to start. Other issues surrounded getting their credit assessed to find out if they were mortgage ready, pricing and they needed support and they felt that they could get it through MCDC’s 1st Time Home Buyers Program.
“Working with MCDC was great , easy, very helpful and understanding. The outcome of us working with MCDC got us approved for our forever home. I would recommend anyone that wishes to get into their 1st home to contact MCDC. They helped lead us into the right direction.” Monte also states that “if you want to get a home keep moving forward and don’t give up.”
TONYA James’ Testimony
Coatesville, Pa.
Once again, we the members of MCDC had the pleasure to talk to one of the recipients of our Home Rehabilitation Program! We’re talking to Tonya James in regards to her experience with MCDC and their Rehab program.
“ I first heard about the program through Facebook whereby MCDC was having a meeting to try and help residents in regards to home repairs. One of the biggest issues I was facing at that time was centered around my HVAC system which was old and outdated. My system had to be turned off manually, and that created safety issues. I was hard pressed to get a new system as a new HVAC system is costly. MCDC has provided me with a new system that has decreased my energy usage and has decreased my insurance premiums.
I am ecstatic on the amount that was given me in regards to my new system and it didn’t cost me a dime out of pocket. I loved the fact that Ricky Campbell the Project Manager stayed in close contact with me and whenever I reached out to him, he would return my calls. My situation has improved greatly and I’m very pleased.
I have shared with other people about MCDC’s program, and during this process I’ve learned a lot about patience. At first, I was wondering if we would get it, and once the announcement came, I was wondering when could I get my situation resolved? I finally came to understand that a lot of things are out of my and their control, so I was just thankful for when things finally started rolling.
I’m going to support some of their endeavors to show appreciation and gratitude for them continuously trying to do good for our community. I’m grateful for MCDC’s presence in our community.
