Our mission

Who We Are

We are a nonprofit organization attempting to bring together the members of the community in Coatesville, PA and surrounding Chester County area.  The movement supports cultural, educational and social community activities along with any type of community-building initiative.  We are strong advocates for voter registration, and continue to strive to help teach our youth the importance of exercising their right to vote when they come of age. 

Since 2017, Movement Community Development Corporation has invested in scholarships, youth financial literacy, housing initiatives, voter engagement, and community partnerships to strengthen Coatesville and the surrounding region.

Our Vision

We envision a community where every graduating student has the opportunity to pursue college or a skilled trade, every returning citizen has a fair chance to rebuild their life through meaningful employment, and every family affected by the opioid crisis finds hope, support, and a path toward healing. Together with our community partners, we are committed to creating opportunities that empower individuals, strengthen families, and transform communities.

our impact

Since 2017, Movement Community Development Corporation (MCDC) has remained committed to creating opportunities, strengthening families, and improving the quality of life throughout Coatesville and Chester County. Through strategic partnerships, community collaboration, and dedicated volunteers, we continue to make a lasting difference.

  • 🎓 $75,000 awarded in scholarships to graduating high school students pursuing college and skilled trades.

  • 🏠 More than $1 million invested in home-rehabilitation projects at no cost to qualifying homeowners.

  • 🔑 Spearheaded a First-Time Homebuyers Program, to help families pursue the dream of homeownership.

  • 💳 Launched a Free Credit Repair Program that provided assistance to 140 individuals financially affected by Covid-19 pandemic, at no cost to the participants

  • 💦 Contributed $200,000 toward new water features in Coatesville Community Park, creating a safe and enjoyable gathering place for local families.

  • 🍽️ Partnered with another community organization and contributed more than $2,000 to help provide food for local families in need.

  • 💼 Assisted returning citizens in obtaining employment and rebuilding productive, self-sufficient lives.

  • 🤝 Built strong partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and government agencies to address critical community needs and create lasting solutions.
